I love soothing sounds.

Like the sounds of writing in pencil or pen. Typing on computer. Drawing. Coloring. Painting. (reason why I love Bob Ross’ “Joy of Painting”) Even something like a sound of haircut or people eating. Whatever that’s quiet.

Library is a nice place for these, but I’d fall asleep listening to them. Not a good idea.

I thought I was weird. But I went onto Youtube and typed “writing sounds,” and there are so many videos of these things, with hundreds of subscribers and tens of thousands of viewers.

It’s nice to know that I’m not alone!

That’s a little bit of myself I don’t really tell people about. Aha.

It’s been a while!

It’s about time to type a lengthy post I think. I don’t really like this nature of public diary-writing of Tumblr, but what the heck. If I am getting updates on you guys’ life, I should do the same for you guys! This feels like I’ll probably end up not writing another post for a while, earliest being the end of this month when I’ll be wrapping up towards the end of the semester. But, oh well.

I actually don’t know where and how to start. Too much unspoken that it just faded away! I’ve forgotten a lot about what has been happening so far into this semester. I think I’ll just start with what classes I am taking.

Biology 210: Cell stuff. Topics were mostly covered by IB, but SO much more details. I love the professor but his exams are little too hard. Lab is pretty good.

Chemistry 123: Inorganic chemistry. A mix of IB Chem A and B. As some of you may know, I dislike math and thus this course’s involvement in it. Pretty fun though, but I don’t like the lab. Harsh grading. The lecture prof’s relatively young, nice and fun to talk with, but his tests are by far the hardest ones I’ve ever taken in my life so far.

History 251: Ancient Greece. Pretty neat, fun teacher. I like the discussions, but not the dense readings. I feel bad for getting drowsy in the class sometime.

Psychology 101: Prerequisite for my Neuroscience interdisciplinary concentration. Prof’s nice. Not too bad for intro.

The last 4 days have been a torture. But I amazingly had descent amount of sleep each night, like around 5-7 hours. Good time management I guess, sitting on a chair for 8 hours straight everyday. I had 5 tests: Bio lab and Chem for Monday, Chem lab for Tuesday, Bio for Wednesday, and Psychology for Thursday (today). I don’t know the results for them except for Chemistry, and it would’ve been better had I not made a stupid algebra mistake. I’m just glad that I am done with everything - though I need to finish 3 papers by the end of the weekend for Bio lab, History, and this half-unit Introduction to Healthcare class. Hopefully I’ll get my way around and get these done in time!

On the 12th, I will get to register for the classes for next Fall.

Bio 301: Cell Bio. More into cells but physiological, molecular stuff of it. It’s on heavy demand by the upperclassmen. I want this class so bad!

Bio 225: Invertebrate Bio. The back-up for Bio 301 in case I don’t get it. Not interested in this thing, but I need to take this kind of environment-based biology course at least once to graduate as Biology major. So I guess I’ll just get it out of my way if I were to take it.

Chem 211: Organic Chem I. Apparently at least 1/3 of the class quits by the end of the semester because they fail. Kind of scary; hopefully it isn’t that bad.

History 111: East Asia History. I forget what era though. I thought I’d take easy History class for next year with Orgo. Need to get non-Asia stuff to get History minor req. away anyways.

English 101: Writing composition. Not bad from what I hear. More writing than reading. That’s better than the other way around. I need grammar improvement on my writing!

Life here is pretty good actually despite the absence of Asian-ness. Pretty fun hanging around with these white folks. Some Asians here, but most are Chinese. (not that there’s anything wrong with that!) There’s one Japanese kid too! And one Korean other than me here who’s a sophomore. Don’t see him around so much anymore now that he’s taking Upperdivision courses that I can’t take yet. But we still talk. Pretty fun.

It’s crazy meeting different types of people. Lynnwood seems like a holy place compared to here. Since the school’s isolated in region, alot of people go crazy over fraternity parties. Pretty wild, and I am avoiding going there probably till at least the Junior year. Many people seem to be coming to Albion just for fun, but the bright thing is that there’s just about the same number of people who’s really trying with academics. I’m just trying to hang out with the latter half, and it seems pretty well so far.

That felt short actually. But I can’t think at this moment!

I hope you guys are doing fine - and so far it seems so from looking at your posts! I can’t believe that the year’s almost over already… time flies by. Till its end, I hope that you guys will make the best of it, and be ready for the busy, relaxing, fun-filled summer!

See you guys very soon! :)

D-27.

Student vs. Homework

Never before have I laughed during the test

at my friend’s sigh,

the ridiculousness of the test,

and myself for just staring at the question, reading and re-retreading it again.

But I had studied for 40 hours,

having just a single meal per day,

while sleeping 9 hours every day for last 3 days.

Today, fifty of us were sitting there

rubbing our eyes and holding the breath.

At the end of the hour,

only one of us left looking down on the floor.

That has got to be the hardest test I have ever taken in my life. Almost comparable to the IB HL Chem test last year.

What did I do wrong?

Had I seen this video years before, I’d be so much more into reading books. And using extravagant words.
